Demand Response & Energy Consulting, LLC (DREC, LLC) provides clients with advice, research and regulatory filing services on issues involving demand response and wholesale electric power markets. Marie Pieniazek, Founder and President of DREC, LLC, has over 12 years of experience working with ISO’s, RTO’s, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and state regulatory bodies.  DREC, LLC also provides market power analyses in connection with the electric power industry relative to demand response, installed capacity pricing, and regulatory issues.

Ms. Pieniazek has held a number of upper management positions within the demand response industry.  Working as Vice-President of Government & Regulatory Affairs, for one of the nations largest privately held demand response providers, Ms. Pieniazek gained essential knowledge in the regulatory field, at the federal and state levels.  Prior to working in the demand response industry Ms. Pieniazek worked at the New York Independent System Operator where she was responsible for facilitation of New York’s $750,000,000 Installed Capacity market. Prior to joining the New York Independent System Operator, Ms. Pieniazek was employed by Selkirk Cogen Partners, a 345-megawatt cogeneration facility that provides power to New York’s wholesale market.   Ms. Pieniazek holds a BS in Business, Economics, and Management from the State University of New York, Empire State College and an MBA from The College of Saint Rose.
